How the NJ agency runs the licence case
- Licence suspension is imposed by the Municipal Court judge as part of the sentence under N.J.S.A. 39:4-50, not through a pre-conviction administrative suspension.
- The MVC administers the suspension and restoration process after conviction.
- A restoration fee must be paid to the MVC once the suspension period ends.
- An interlock period is required under the programme established by N.J.S.A. 39:4-50.17.
- DWI surcharges are assessed separately by the MVC.
