K.P.

    Founder & Managing Editor · DUIGuide.us since 2025

K.P. founded DUIGuide.us after finding that most DUI information online was either a law-firm advertisement or an uncited summary that had not been updated in years. The goal of the site is narrower and more boring than that: state what the statute actually says, link to it, and date the page.

Day to day, that means reviewing drafts against the primary source, deleting anything that cannot be traced to a state code section, DMV/DPS publication, or court directory, and publishing dated corrections when a reader reports an error.

K.P. is not an attorney and does not give legal advice. Nothing published on this site creates an attorney-client relationship or substitutes for consulting a licensed attorney in your state.

    • Responsible for the site's AI-assistance disclosure and human verification workflow

    Areas of responsibility

    • State DUI/DWI statutes and penalty ranges
    • License suspension, DMV hearings and reinstatement
    • SR-22 and post-DUI insurance requirements
    • Ignition interlock rules

    Conflict-of-interest disclosure

Holds no ownership, employment, or referral interest in any law firm, insurance carrier, ignition-interlock vendor, or treatment provider. The site earns money from Google AdSense and from clearly labeled advertiser and referral placements; those relationships are never disclosed to, or requested by, the person fact-checking a page, and no advertiser reviews content before publication.

    Desk-wide policy

No advertiser influence on legal content

Advertisers, affiliate partners, and referral networks never see, review, approve, or edit a guide before it is published. No page's legal figures — BAC limits, fines, jail exposure, suspension periods, interlock or SR-22 rules — may be changed at the request of a commercial partner.

    Separation of money and editing

Ad and affiliate placements are configured by page type, not by page conclusion. Editors are not compensated on ad revenue, clicks, leads, or conversions produced by the pages they fact-check.

    No undisclosed relationships

Editors must disclose any employment, ownership, family, or paid relationship with a law firm, insurer, interlock vendor, or treatment provider, and must recuse themselves from pages that touch that relationship. Current disclosures appear on each editor's bio page.

    Labeled commercial units

Ads, sponsored units, and attorney/insurance referral forms are visually labeled and kept outside the fact-checked body of the guide.

    We are not attorneys

No one on this desk is a licensed attorney, and we never present an editor as one. If we add licensed-attorney review in the future, the reviewer's name, bar number, jurisdiction, and review date will appear on the page itself.
